Having a Garden is Therapeutic-Stress Reliever

Gardening can improve your physical and emotional well-being. Whether it’s a few plants in the windowsill, containers on a deck, beds, and borders in the yard or a vegetable plot, gardens big and small can reap big benefits for you and your family.

I do not have a fancy garden like others do but I am now very happy with the results of my garden. (Related topic-I am Disappointed with The Results) Today, I walked around my garden and was thrilled with it. I was inspired by one of my friends on Facebook and said, "Gardening is therapeutic.". I also agreed and added, "Gardening is stress-reliever".

There are few plants that are thriving here in Springtown, Texas. I planted this cucumber in the first weeks of June 15, 2020 (first picture), and today July 8, 2020, my cucumbers are growing like weeds(just below).

The same day I planted the cucumber, I planted bittermelon(ampalaya-Filipino) too, and only one germinate out of eight seeds. Look at my ampalaya now, yay, it's growing! I like the smell of its leaves and delicious to add eggs for breakfast. I heard that bittermelon has cancer-fighting properties.

My husband built me a trellis a week ago and saw some baby gourds coming up. čśŐThrilled! Other people called it gourd, in the Philippines we call it "upo" or tabungaw in Ilokano.

I want to present to you my very first sunflower plants. Some didn't give me flowers yet but I am so excited to see them bloom. I have one that blooms yesterday. My husband was right, these sunflowers can grow up to 5-6 feet tall. June 10, 2020 picture-20inches long (evening time)

My sunflowers are as tall as me, lol. I am 4'9 in height. The picture was taken on July 8, 2020. (I am sorry for the messy hair- that is my early morning face)

Eggplants in the barrel. My main purpose was to use the barrels as a composer, but since I am experimenting on everything what is good for my garden. I don't know that eggplants grow well in a 55-gallon barrel.
